baby room

Babies to 4 years old

We accept children from 2 months to 3 years of age. They must transfer to school when they turn 4.

Babies

We accept babies as young as 2 months old in to our Chestnut Class.

The youngest children are segregated in to their own room, with their own play area and routines. This ensures they are kept safe from the more active and mobile children, until they are more secure in their walking.

Toddlers

We have 2 or 3 classes for the pre-school age children, as required.

Foundation Stage 1 Children

Oak Class takes our 3 year old children, who are preparing to go to school. This is Foundation Stage 1 (FS1) in the British system.

Note that there is a one-year overlap between nurseries and schools; both nurseries and schools accept FS1 children, so parents have the choice where to send them.

School and nursery environments are very different. It is a very personal choice when you move your child - whether they do FS1 in nursery or in their new school. Every child is different, so there is no simple answer as to what is best. However, if moving your child to formal schooling for FS1, be aware that they will be have to be independent, confident and self-reliant to cope with the move to a much larger setting.
